Li Ching Deaf-and-Hearing Inclusion Fund

The Centre for Sign Linguistics and Deaf Studies (CSLDS) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) established the Li Ching Deaf-and-Hearing Inclusion Fund in March 2008. The fund aims at sponsoring local deaf projects in order to promote harmony between the deaf and hearing communities. These projects include the development of deaf education, deaf research projects, career development programmes, as well as counselling services for the deaf organised by NGOs, as well as financial aid for the needy deaf children in China.

Completed Projects

1. "細聽我心聲之龍耳共融徵文比賽" ("Listen to My Heart" Chinese Writing Competition on Deaf-Hearing Inclusion by Silence Association, organized by the Silence Association (2009/10))

On-going Projects

1. "Helping children with Hearing Impairment - a Family Therapy Approach", organized by the Grand Alliance for Parents of Persons with Special Educational Needs (GAPSEN) (2010/11)

2. "聾人及弱聽人士持續就業因素研究及政策建議" (A study on factors affecting sustainable employment of Deaf and hard-of-hearing persons with policy recommendations), organized by Hong Kong Association of the Deaf (2011/12)
