Fostering Inclusive Learning Through Hong Kong Sign Language on Campus

The Practicum Module of the Certificate Programme in Sign Language Teaching has successfully concluded in March 2026. All programme participants completed their practicum teaching either through placements arranged by the Centre or in collaboration with external organizations. As part of the practicum arrangements, the Centre organized the “Hong Kong Sign Language and Deaf Culture Experiential Course” on campus, offering a total of 28 classes and engaging 315 participants from the CUHK community and the public. Participants included CUHK students, staff, and members of the wider community, with CUHK staff representing a broad range of roles and units, such as administrative and professional staff, research staff, lecturers, technicians, library and college staff. The strong participation and encouraging feedback reflect the growing interest in Hong Kong Sign Language and Deaf culture, and highlight the Centre’s commitment to fostering inclusive learning and awareness on campus.
