Participating in Conferences and Seminars

Senior Programme Officer, Mr. Chris Yiu, was invited by Prof. Hsing Min-hua of National University of Tainan for a consultation visit to the sign bilingual programme on 15-17 December 2014. 

On 16 Dec, Mr. Yiu gave 2 talks to 120 undergraduates of the University and 50 postgraduates of Department of Special Education respectively. Another talk was given to parents of DHH students and staff of the sign bilingual programme taking place in 2 project schools:  The Affiliated Hearing Impaired School of National University of Tainan (國立臺南大學附屬啟聰學校) and Kindergarten of National University of Tainan Affiliated Elementary School (台南大學附小幼兒園). The parents are very positive towards the current sign bilingual programme and would like it to further develop. 

On 17 Dec, Mr. Yiu visited the project schools and had classroom observation. He then met with programme staff and provided advice on classroom practices and the development of the programme, stressing the need of developing a long-term project plan. CSLDS will continue to provide support and consultation to the Tainan Programme.
