The 8th Theoretical Issues in Sign Language Research Conference (TISLR 8), Universitat de Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain

The centre presented two paper and three poster presentations at this conference:

Oral presentations:

  • "Event boundedness in Hong Kong Sign Language"
  • "Blinks and intonational phrases in Hong Kong Sign Language"

Poster presentations:

  • "Reconsidering number agreement in Hong Kong Sign Language"
  • "Contact in Hong Kong Sign Language"
  • "What makes the acquisition of classifiers so difficult?"

Two of the centre’s deaf trainees also attended TISLR 8; for them, it was an eye-opening experience. The hearing researchers took turns interpreting the presentations for the deaf trainees.
