Our future work

The Centre for Sign Linguistics and Deaf Studies will further improve the Sign Bilingual and Co-enrolment model in Hong Kong, building a “though-train” model for deaf education.

At the same time, the Centre will continue the follow work of different levels:

  1. Development of educational resources, training of pre-service and in-service teachers and professionals, and to provide support to schools and social service organizations;
  2. Share the resources developed to deaf students, minority students and other SEN students in special schools and mainstream schools;
  3. Further  promote the rationale of Sign Bilingualism and Co-enrolment in schools and the community;
  4. Provide professional consultation and support to nearby countries and cities such as Mainland China, Taiwan, Japan etc., to assist them in establishing similar sign bilingual education programmes suiting the local situation and needs.
