Inclusion, Integration, and Co-enrollment

The terms inclusion, integration, and co-enrollment are often used to describe classrooms, schools, or school systems where Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH) students are educated in general education programs alongside their peers with typical hearing. In this presentation I will highlight the defining features of co-enrollment and explore how co-enrollment can lead to inclusion and integration of DHH students into the wider educational community. I will also discuss findings regarding social and academic outcomes of co-enrolled DHH students.
