Recruitment of Japanese Interns: APSL Research Internship (2013/14) and Postgraduate Studentship (2014/15)

The Asia Pacific Sign Linguistics Research and Training (APSL) Program is pleased to announce the recruitment of Japanese students interested in developing a career in Sign Linguistics to join our research internship and postgraduate studentship scheme. The interns will be mentored by sign linguists at The Centre for Sign Linguistics and Deaf Studies, Department of Linguistics and Modern Languages, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. They will participate in various research activities housed under the APSL Program in collaboration with a group of Japanese Deaf research trainees. Research activities will be centered on documentation of sign languages and construction of sign language corpus. Under the internship scheme, the interns will be prepared to apply to the Master of Arts (M.A.) Programme in Linguistics (with a specialization in Sign Linguistics) at the Department of Linguistics and Modern Languages, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Good performance during the internship period and successful application into the M.A. Programme will lead to the award of the postgraduate studentship.
